Echoes explores memories from my childhood in Myanmar through a series of porcelain works: Smelly Memory, Dependency, and Empty Nest. Each piece reflects a specific moment— the lingering smell of dried fish in the summer, the simple act of making a pinwheel from folded paper and found materials, and the fragile nests of weaver birds during the monsoon, where some endure and others fall in the storm.
These works reconnect personal memory with material exploration. Using thin, translucent porcelain, I test the limits of the clay, creating delicate surfaces that mirror the fragility of these experiences. Through texture and form, the pieces hold onto fleeting moments, allowing memory to remain present yet gently distant.
